01Product status
Pilot recruiting
Drometra Spaces is a product in design. We are selecting stores for a pilot and do not yet process images from any premises. This notice sets out the design commitments that will govern the pilot; before it starts, it will be completed with the details of the equipment, the models, and the periods for each case.
02What Spaces does
Spaces estimates which areas of a store receive the most attention. It uses the security cameras the store already has and a three-dimensional model of the premises, built from a recording of a walk through the aisles. A device installed on the premises detects body keypoints of each person in the frame, estimates where they are looking, and translates that into seconds of attention per shelf.
03Design commitments
- Local processing: images are processed on a device inside the store and the video is discarded there. Drometra does not receive video or photographs of people.
- No identification: there is no facial recognition or biometric data to identify anyone. Age, gender, emotions, and other traits are not estimated.
- No tracking: each path is forgotten when the person leaves the frame, and no one is tracked from one day to the next.
- Aggregates only: Drometra receives counts and seconds per shelf in 15-minute intervals, and only when enough people were present in that interval that the data cannot single out a person.
- Recording of the premises: the recording for the three-dimensional model is made with the premises closed to the public or avoiding capturing people.
04Who is responsible
The store is the controller of the images from its cameras and decides to use Spaces. DROMETRA SpA acts as processor and processes the data only on the store's behalf, under a contract that includes a Spaces-specific clause. The store must inform those who enter through visible signs at the entrance and in the covered areas, with a means of contact for exercising rights.
If a pilot cross-references shelf attention with the store's sales data, the cross-reference is made with aggregated data and never with data on individual shoppers.
05Legal review before each pilot
Before starting each pilot, we review with the store the lawful basis, the content of the signs, the retention periods for the aggregates, and any impact assessment required under Law 21,719, in force since December 1, 2026.
Ley 21.719 · High-risk data processing
It requires assessing the impact on data protection before any processing that, due to its nature, scope, or technology, may create a high risk to the rights of data subjects, such as the systematic monitoring of publicly accessible spaces.
Official text of the rule06Rights of store visitors
Since Spaces does not identify people or retain images, there will normally be no data associated with you to provide or delete. You may nonetheless ask the store or write to [email protected]; we will tell you what is processed at that store and forward your request to the store when appropriate.
